For Buyers

How do I buy a pool route?

Browse listings on our marketplace, find a route that fits your budget and location, then submit an inquiry. We review your profile, connect you with the seller, and facilitate due diligence through to close. Most deals close within 7–14 days from accepted offer.

What is included in a pool route sale?

A typical sale includes the customer list and contracts, equipment (chemicals, tools, sometimes a van), the service schedule, and a transition period where the seller introduces you to clients. Specific inclusions vary by listing — always confirm with the seller.

How long does the buying process take?

From accepted offer to close, most transactions take 7–14 days. We move fast — due diligence, paperwork, and transfer can all happen within two weeks for cash and seller-financed deals. SBA-financed deals take longer (typically 45–60 days from offer) due to lender requirements.

What financing options exist for buying a pool route?

The most common options are: cash purchase, SBA 7(a) loans (pool routes qualify as a business acquisition), seller financing (seller holds a note), and conventional business loans. We recommend speaking with a lender familiar with service business acquisitions.

How are pool routes valued?

Pool routes in our markets sell for 8–10x monthly gross revenue on average. A route generating $5,000/month typically sells for $40,000–$50,000. Factors like customer retention, geographic density, and equipment condition affect the final price — premium markets like Arizona and California can command even higher multiples.

Is it safe to buy a pool route without industry experience?

Yes — many first-time buyers enter pool service with no prior experience. The work is learnable, and sellers typically offer a transition period. We recommend taking a pool technician certification course and having the seller provide route training.

For Sellers

How do I list my route?

Submit your route details using the form on our Sell page. We review your submission, verify the key financials, and list your route on the marketplace — typically within 1–2 business days of confirmation.

What is my route worth?

Pool routes typically sell for 8–10x monthly gross revenue in our top markets. Our submission form calculates a suggested asking price automatically. We can help you set a competitive price based on your state, route density, and customer retention.

What does the 8–10x multiplier mean?

It means buyers typically pay 8–10 times your monthly revenue as a lump-sum purchase price. For example: $5,000/month × 8 = $40,000 — and at 10x that same route is worth $50,000. This reflects the stable, recurring nature of pool service income and strong buyer demand in our markets.

What fees does PoolRouteCash.com charge?

Listing is completely free. When your route sells, we charge a flat $500 success fee — that's it. Compare that to a traditional pool route broker who takes 10–12% commission: on a $80,000 sale, that's $8,000–$9,600 in broker fees. With PoolRouteCash, you keep the difference.

How long until I get offers?

Most listings receive inquiries within the first 1–2 weeks if priced correctly. Routes in high-demand states (Florida, Texas, Arizona, California) often get multiple inquiries in the first few days.

What information do I need to provide?

We need: total account count, monthly gross revenue, asking price, city/state, and your contact info. Additional details like equipment, route density, years in business, and reason for selling help attract more qualified buyers.
